Hi, I’m Sister Maria Derecola, born and raised in Stowe, PA.
I attended St. Gabriel’s Elementary School, St. Pius X High School, Montgomery County Community College and Moravian College.

I’m a School Sister of St. Francis, Bethlehem, PA. and have been teaching for 47 years, 15 of those years at St. Matthias in Somerset, NJ.

Spending time with my family and friends is very important to me. Being a huge Philadelphia Sports Fan for the Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers is definitely challenging living among New York Sports Fans!

When I’m not cheering for my teams, I love to read, go for walks, listen to music, dance, and watch movies.
